Another year almost to a close – brekkie at the Sunbreakers Restaurant and we were on our way – unfortunately no police escort this year, but the support crew can manage the traffic as well as anyone I know, so we arrived into Perth to the music of “Chariots of Fire”, many tears, great achievements, both personal and as a group, and of course the fact that all the families were there to greet their loved ones – it is such an emotional homecoming.
The day will be a long one with 4 stops and 170 kms to ride – the boys and gals will be in the saddle for a longer length of time today and although great achievement is felt when riding into Mandurah I am sure, if they are like the support team, there is also some weariness setting in. However, the training by Pete Trench and the boys has really paid off and everyone is ready to achieve today.
The highlight this evening was at the Equinox Restaurant where we had a private function room and were able to relax and not make so much noise the other diners had difficulty digesting their dinner!
It was another fabulous night with amazingly funny fines and yours truly has certainly not been missed any night since leaving home, but it is all in good fun and very often extremely clever clips from our Fine Masters, Kim Harrison and Wayne Pluske.
