On Saturday 16 November over 200 riders took part in the second annual Tim’s Ride. Commencing at 5.00pm participants cycled either in Route A covering 27kms or in Route B covering 5kms with both pelotons finishing at Harvey Field, Cottesloe. This year’s ride was lucky enough to secure the support of the Western Australian Police Services who provided an escort and green light corridor for the full 27kms of Route A.
The first 6 weeks of training have been completed and the improvements have been admirable. New riders are the standouts and have really stepped up to the mark in both their fitness and bike handling skills. Over the next 4 weeks they will be integrated into the group 1 & 2 riders and there will be no more group 3.
Congratulations to our riders Ian Olson and Ride Chairman – Charlie Elders for taking part in the infamous New York Marathon. All the hard work and training you put in has paid off. Now there is just a measly 700km ride to take part in!
Kudos must also go to Charlie’s wife, Mary Hackett; Mark de Corti, Barb’s son; and Julie Meek the Ride Nutritionist. Sadly Barb was a late withdrawal due to injury.
Well done to all of you on your massive effort.
