In less than a week’s time, all of our riders will be boarding the buses in City Beach, accompanied by our support crew and Youth Focus representatives – including one very nervous but excited new CEO (finemasters – be gentle… not)! We’re about to take the final step on our Hawaiian Ride for Youth journey for 2016! 144 riders representing 33 teams – our biggest Hawaiian Ride for Youth yet!
A number of Hawaiian Ride for Youth (HRFY) riders competed in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship on Sunday, 13 March. The UCI Gran Fondo World Championship is an international celebration of the sport of competitive cycling, where amateurs and professionals compete to be crowned the World Champion and receive the coveted rainbow jersey.
The Hawaiian Ride for Youth media summary and social media guidelines have been established to highlight the benefits of social media usage, and to protect the interests of the Ride participants and the corporate and community organisations involved.
Positive social media usage has many benefits, including building advocacy for the Ride, increasing engagement within the community, attracting potential donors and importantly, raising awareness of youth issues in the community.
