After a well-earned rest at the lovely Morowa Hotel, a top quality dinner and breakfast from the Everlasting guesthouse, a massage and a few laughs - the 43 riders and nine support crew were ready to head off bright and early Wednesday morning to try to beat the heat and complete the 135km journey to Dalwallinu.
The Coastal peloton pushed out of Walpole early this morning after a stormy night last night. The Ride was a bit tough going, with wet conditions, several mechanical incidents and very steep hills, but the riders made it to a very excited group of students at Pemberton District High School - the students rushed at the riders grasping for their autographs. The riders are treated like rock stars!
The Inland peloton left Albany on Tuesday morning in high spirits after an enjoyable evening with the two other southwest pelotons on Monday night.
The riders set off with great weather and arrived at Mt Barker Community College to a warm welcome after a smooth ride. Karen Brown, a first time rider, gave an inspiring presentation that brought together the theme of connection and the Ride experience beautifully. The students were engaged and attentive throughout the talk.
